Northwestern ToolsNorthwestern Tools, a family run organization, was founded in 1942 by Gene Thomeczek, who foresaw an industry need for quality machine tooling. From its beginnings on Northwestern Avenue in Dayton, Ohio (hence the name), Northwestern Tools has grown from an initial offering of 4 items to an array of over 2000 items with new products constantly being added. This growth forced Northwestern to move to its present Valleywood Drive location in 1968 to house the growing production needs.

Now being run by a second generation of Thomeczeks, Northwestern has kept the “family atmosphere” alive within its employees, evidenced by its employee retention rate. A third of its employees have over 20 years with the company. This “family atmosphere” is also evident during crisis times when everyone pitches in together to get things accomplished.
